Sorry late reply, there is nothing on the return trip I would do different.

The chip issue, its for the airline not any government person in the USA (mainly in case they lose you dog I think!) and of course we know they dont need it here! The health certificate is the same as the one on this site from when we left the USA, just get it signed and stamped from the local vet here. Remember to get a screwworm certificate also in case you are asked for this when entering the USA, just type up a letter saying the animals is been examined and has been found to be free of screwworm and get them to sign it.

When I entered Miami with the 2 dogs and cat the officer gave them a quick look over, and asked to see the vaccination records, thats all.

Also when you are in the arrival hall we always use the porters, its worth the tip as they normally know the good and bad quarantine officers.

Found your entry on taking the dogs back to the States to be very helpful. We brought our dog, Daisy, from the States and are getting ready to take her back with us. If there was something that you would do differently, what would it be? More importantly, we were told that we need that to secure a health certificate from the ICAO, our dog needs a "tattoo" or microchip from the US - proving that we brought the dog the US and its the same dog we are taking out. Is that true? Anything we should be careful about?

Thanks again for taking the time to detail your adventure. Its been really helpful to my wife and I. Kap
